Is it easier to live with an older girl than a younger girl?

So my recent relationship with a young girl went south, no big surprise nor big deal but after years of only dating young girls I'm beginning to think that they are just too high maintenance and not really worth the time and effort I have to put in. Never having dated a woman in my own age group I was wondering if age mellows you girls or are you also all the"me", young girls are incredible selfish and I'm hoping older girls are more realistic in there needs and wants.
