Is it legal to shoot a crossbow in my back yard?

I just got a Barnett Predator crossbow, and I'd like to set up a range in my back yard. If it's legal I plan to buy several bales of hay, and never shoot towards any one else's house. I live in a residential area in Killeen, Tx, if that helps. Thanks
